This position is the vital key role of being the relationship builder and spiritual guide to the campers. Responsibilities include safety and accountability of group while leading camp activities throughout the week excluding breaks. The counselor will be the facilitator of cirriculum discussion and the spiritual leader in individual relationships with campers. This position will display high integrity and guidance to the campers from discussions to behavior.
This position assists in all areas associated with swimming pool/lake activities and includes camp maitenance, cleaning equipment, bath houses and to assist in kitchen duty as part of the daily scheduled routine. Responsible for the operartion of the waterfront program, support to campers and staff through providing a safe and fun waterfront activity area.
CHALLENGE COURSE STAFF
Do you like spending your days up in the trees? Challenge Course Staff lead high ropes, climbing wall, and the zipline. They also lead off-site rock climbing and rappelling trips. Challenge course staff also help out in the kitchen during meal times and spend time with campers during the counselor's time off. This position is at Camp Otterbein only.
Has God blessed you with the gift of music? Each camp has a worship leader who leads music during our two worship sessions every day. Worship leaders also help in leading activities, help out in the kitchen during meal times, and spend time with campers during the counselor's time off.
Camp is full of bumps, scrapes, and bruises. The health officer is responsible for tracking and administering camper medications and providing first aid care. Although no medical experience is required, this position is great for a nursing or pre-med student! Help capture all of the fun on camera and video. Camp photographers take pictures and video of everything going on at camp throughout the day. They are also responsible for uploading pictures to the web every day for parents to see as well as sorting and distributing camper mail. Photographers also help in leading activities, help out in the kitchen during meal times, and spend time with campers during the counselor's time off.
Kitchen assistants help the camp cook in keeping everyone happy and full! Our camps serve high quality and nutritional meals that we make on-site. Kitchen assistants also help out with doing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean.
