Camp Widewater Interim Director - Scott Jensen

Camp Widewater Welcomes
New Interim Director

After 4 years of service, Rachel Palmer has resigned as Director of Camp Widewater to pursue other endeavors.

“Rachel’s unique gifts to Camp Widewater will be felt for many years to come. She made a lasting impact on campers and retreats while making Widewater an exceptional facility,” says Ken Overholser, Conference Director of Camping & retreat Ministries.

Scott Jensen will serve as interim Camp Director of Camp Widewater. A retired United Methodist Camp Director from Storm Mountain, South Dakota, Jensen has served as an Interim Director in South Carolina in 2019 and is a supervisor for Habitat for Humanity.

“Scott has all the qualities we were seeking in a camp leader who can walk into a situation and make things happen,” said Ken Overholser, Conference Director of Camping & Retreat Ministries. “We are confident our campers will have a great camp experience this summer at Widewater under Scott’s leadership.”
