A Simple Challenge Supports Families in Clark County

Between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, the congregation of South Charleston United Methodist Church in the Western Lakes District collected diapers and baby wipes to support the Parent Resource Network of Clark County, Ohio. This collection was a response to a challenge from Pastor Ben Webster to collect as many essential baby supplies as possible to support families with limited resources.

“We collected 84 packages of diapers and 77 packages of baby wipes for the Family Resource Center in Springfield,” Pastor Webster said. “At the average price of $10 per package for diapers and $5 per package for baby wipes, the monetary donation totals approximately $1,225 from the congregation to this project.”

During worship on Father’s Day, the congregation prayed over the donated diapers and wipes, asking God’s blessing on the families who will receive supplies.

“It was a meaningful reminder that each package represented more than a donation—it represented a precious child and family within our community,” said Pastor Webster.
