Eight young people from West Ohio were awarded partial scholarships to attend the Discipleship Ministries Global Young People Convocation (GYPC), this Summer in Dublin, Ireland. The West Ohio Conference and the Maumee River District provided funding for these scholarships.

GYPC, scheduled for July 7-11, is a quadrennial event for youth and young adult United Methodists from across the globe to connect, learn, and lead together.

Thanks to the support of the West Ohio Conference and the Maumee River District, Anthony Caprara, Gavin Herrig, Claire Harvey, Marie Rittenberry, Griffin Byrne, Lydia Christenson, Gigi Bix, and Andrew Dzierwa, are taking the next step of responding to God’s call to become more involved in the United Methodist Church.

The group covets prayers as they continue their efforts to raise the remaining funds for the trip and finalize travel documentation. To support these youth attending GYPC, contact Rev.
