African American lay and clergy leaders from across the East Ohio and West Ohio Conferences are invited to “Rooted, Renewed, and Rising: Listening for the Future of Black Leadership in Ohio,” a one-day event set for Friday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Ohio Conference Office, 32 Wesley Blvd., in Worthington.
The gathering will feature worship, Holy Communion, and strategic listening sessions focused on seven key areas: history and experience, building trust and participation, mission and leadership, representation, spiritual renewal, community witness, and hope for the future. Attendees will reflect on the current state and future possibilities for Black church leadership in Ohio, concluding with a shared commitment to actionable next steps.
Registration is $20 per person and includes meals and materials. Discounted lodging is available at Sheraton Suites Columbus Worthington for $109 per night plus tax under the group name “Black Leadership Ohio.”
